Congratulations to Sherry Carr (class of 1976), she is Emmanuel's 2011 recipient for our annual Alumnus of the Year, a current Hartsville resident, current 4th grade teacher at ECS, a parent of 3 ECS graduates, and is married to our Excel Director and teacher Bill Carr.



NOMINATION CRITERIA

I. PURPOSE
A. To recognize the achievement of an outstanding Emmanuel Christian School alumnus who has excelled personally and professionally, making a continued and significant difference in the lives of children, educators, parents, and their community.
B. To stimulate greater interaction among alumni and the ECS community (i.e. administrators, faculty, staff, and students).

II. DATE ESTABLISHED
A. Alumnus of the year award was established in 2009 to honor former graduates of Emmanuel Christian School. This award will be presented to one winner in January of each year.

III. CRITERIA
A. Nominee is a graduate of ECS who graduated at least 5 years prior to the award year.
B. Nominee has made significant contributions to his/her community on a local, state, or national level.
C. Nominee has demonstrated a high level of integrity and Christian leadership in his/her personal life.
D. Nomination form must be submitted to the Headmaster's Office by December 31st of the award year.

IV. NOMINATION and REVIEW PROCESS
A. The nomination process can be initiated by anyone including the nominee within the award year. All nominations must be received in written format and include the following information:
    1) Nomination form completed and turned in to the School Committee no later than their November meeting.
    2) A written nomination letter explaining why the nominee should be considered for the award.
    3) A short statement describing how the nominee has supported ECS' mission statement.
B. The nomination documents will be reviewed by a sub-committee from the School Committee. They will recommend finalists to the Headmaster.
